3 spring mechenism

hi-
I picked up a used Westminster clock movement on ebay. it has 3 mainsprings. can anyone tell me what the 3rd spring is for ?? i do not see any extra hammers or levers ?? anyone know what kind of clock it could have come from ?? thanks, cary

one barrel with mainspring makes the strike work, the middle one does the time side and the 3rd does the chime side.
without a photo no one can te you what kind if case it may have had but probably a mantel or wall type.
