There have been books published on Seth Thomas and the company he founded. These may be available at your local library or through interlibrary loan if you don't wish to purchase them. Likewise there have been catalogs published listing various models of Seth Thomas clocks manufactured through the years.
The company was bought and sold several times. A disastrous fire in the movement factory as well as competition from imports caused the company to begin importing movements for their clocks some years ago.
Eventually they decided to no longer manufacture any clocks themselves and today the Seth Thomas name is merely a trademark for clocks manufactured by others.
Seth Thomas was one of the "Big Seven" American clock making companies that was in business. Not one of those companies exists today.

Thank you,
I did not know about the disastrous fires.
I only own two Seth Thomas clocks now. One wind up mantel that keeps very good time with chime and also one Banjo style wall clock that is need of some repair. It is electric but the chime no longer is working.
Again thank you for the brief history regarding Seth Thomas.
