Post subject: AMS Movement and quality
Hello all, New to this forum and need some advise on a possible purchase. I am considering buying a new German AMS Regulator style wall clock. The clock has mechanical movement but the seller doesn't know if it is Hermle or Kieninger. Als the only dealer for AMS I could find in the U.S. said AMS are very nice clocks but they have discontinued them due to lack of customer service (very slow responce times). Does anybody have any insight into the quality, mechanism, or customer service rep for AMS. Its a pretty good deal I think at $500. Thanks for any and all input

You might be able to identify the movement manufacturer by looking at the front or rear plates of the movement. If it is a Hermle movement, for example, a model number will typically be etched into the rear plate.
I can not offer any sort of opinion on AMS, as I am not readily familiar with them. If their customer service does lack, however, I am certain you can find help elsewhere (whether through clock forum sites, qualified repair people, Service/Repair books, etc).
