Animation sprocket

I have a cockoo clock that has music and animation. The black sprocket for the chain free spins. This sprocket is in front of a brass sprocket that meshes with another plastic sprocket that then meshes with the brass sprocket of the music. If I spin the music box the three meshing sprockets moves and so does the animation. The chain sprocket does not. Is the platic chain sprocket sopped to be attached to the brass sprocket? If so how are they attached? Thank you for your help.
