We just bought this clock and I had thought these clocks had been wall mounted in the kitchens. I've searched the internet on the subject with no luck so I'm asking you kind folks here: In the old days where were these clocks in the kitchen? On a bakers rack?

I had thought when we got it that I would simply be mounting it on our kitchen wall but I can tell from looking at the back that it was never wall mounted.

This may sound like a dumb question, but the curiosity is getting the better of me. Thanks so much

From what i can tell most of those clocks sat on a clock shelf mounted to the wall or just set on the counter or table.
