Hi just bought a mantle clock gong striking. Makers name on the back and on gong "constantia" Made in Germany. Have wondered if this is a model name and not the maker.

I think you are right about this being a model and not the maker. Check the movement for a logo or name and post it with a picture and I can probably find your maker's name.

If not good enough I will try to tske a better one/ The symbol and name is same on back plate as the gong.

Is there a name on the brass movement inside the clock? Usually there is a logo or name on the movement. It should be different than the one on the gong.

Mame and logo on back plate is the same as the gong.
