Post subject: Building a clock need a motor
Hi, this is my first time building a clock. Let me give a little rundown of what Im looking for. The clock that Im designing is made out of 2x4's. Overall it should be about a 2' square. I have access to customize the hands for the clock, which I have an idea on what to do.
My problem is I dont know what motor I need to get. Also I dont know what dimensions or weight the hands should be that they still work. Does the base of the arms need to be the same diameter as the shaft of the motor? How do you attach the arms to the motor?
If someone could help me I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

most likely a 1 rpm motor. Weight is your enemy, so you want to design the gears and hands as light as possible.
