Hi everyone! I've just acquired an old clock that I think is from between 1920 - 1935. It has chinese characters on the back of the dial, so I'm guessing it's from either china or japan. It's a windup pendulum driven clock with a wire gong? Sorry if I'm not describing everything using the correct terms...I'm brand spanking new to old clocks! Smile My first question is, the beat seems to change. It has a nice tick tock tick tock...but after a few seconds it switchs to ticktock... ticktock... and then back to the nice tick tock tick tock. Is this just a leveling issue? Also, all the parts inside have tarnish all over them. Tarnished fingerprints etc. All the gears look really tarnished. I'm thinking of making this my first ever project! I'd like to take it apart and clean everything. Where some of the screws screw in to the back are stripped, so I have to fix that somehow too...

Thanks for any hints!

Dave
