I am installing a Hermle chime assembly in a clock with a front/ side mount. The chime rods are in reverse order. How do I take the rods out and put them in the right order? The assemblies that I have had before could be unscrewed with a screwdriver. This assembly has no slot at the end of the bar for a screwdriver blade. I have tried to use pliers but cannot get a good bite to loosen the bar.

Your chime assembly has rods that are swedged into the chime block. As far as I know there is no way of removing the rods and reinserting them into the block without damaging them.
Unfortunately the only practical solution is to buy a new chime rod/block assembly and install it in the clock.

Thanks. I had two other chime assemblies that the bars could be screwed out. I checked with my supplier after your message and found that they do indeed press them in now. They had sent me the wrong chime assembly. Thanks for your help.
