Post subject: Chimes are slow
I have a Howard Miller Grandfather clock that is about 6 months old. It has the Westminster chime and I love it. It keeps great time, and strikes at the right time, but the chime tempo has become very slow. Is there any way I can adjust the chime tempo (for lack of a better term)? I would prefer to try to fix it myself before calling the clock shop.
Thanks, in advance...

No one answered this so I thought I'd give it a shot if it isn't too late.
Because it's still so new yet you may be able to get away with a little oil on the governor propeller bearings. If the clock were much older I would say that a professional cleaning and lubrication is probably the best way to go. Do you have the weights hanging in the correct sequence??

If it is only 6 months old it is still under warranty and should be returned to the seller for a service.
Putting oil on the mechanism will nullify your warranty.
The heaviest weight goes on the westminster chime side.
