Post subject: Cleaning Antique wood
What's the best thing to clean the outside of an antique clock with?
My clock was kept near a kitchen so it has built up grease and dirt over the years. I need something good to clean with that won't harm the finish.
Thanks!

I would suggest that you try to figure out what the finish is foremost. Some household cleaning products can deteriorate the finish of a clock - just as your concern - however it all depends on the type of finish that was used. Depending on how old the clock actually is, there could be any type of finish on it (from shellac to lacquer to varnish, etc).
