Post subject: cleaning without dismantaling
I have always believed that total dismantling a movement, polishing the pivots and bushing as necessary is the gold standard and everything else is sub-standard, but occasionally cleaning without dismantling is necessary.
Is there a way to flush out old oil and dirt from between the pivots and the plate hole?

Some cleaning can be done with a can of computer cleaning spray.
Dries right up with little or no mess. Stuff paper towels around to collect dirt.
