I recently made a ceramic clock dial a little less than 1/2" thick and about 1.5' in diameter. I am looking for something that is easy to assemble, runs smoothly, and is durable.

I am wondering which clock movement to use... and if there is anything else that I need to get in order to keep the time running smoothly.

(I am thinking of getting the Seiko Ultra- Thin Quartz Mvmts Long Shaft Length: http://www.klockit.com/products/dept-157__sku-AAAXX.html)

You are definately on the right track. You will also need to select a pair of hands. Note that if you want a quieter movement, go with a continuous sweep movement (otherwise the Seiko you have selected should work just fine).
