Post subject: Clock woes
my stepdad has a couple of german clocks he wants to get more info about. They were his parents so he doesn't know a lot about them.
One is a Schmeckenbecher, a wall chime clock
The other is hard to read but it looks like its a Kern, and its an anniversary clock, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, if anyone could share their knowledge on this with us or give us a website we could get some information that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The first one is probably Hermle as they have these movements inside.
probably got two weights and a long pendulum?
Hermle are a german company still making clocks.
Kern are a common 400 day/anniversary make of clock and millions made.
Different styles and sizes were made and these are a mid range quality clock.
Search for Horolovar clock company where you may find information on the Kern. They produced a repair guide for these types of clock that covers a bit of history, repair tips and how to maintain them - most repairers have this book. the latest edition is the 10th.
You won't find a lot of info on the wall clock as these are fewer and don't appear very popular. Not really a collectors item.
