Post subject: Confused About Movement Dimensions
I want to apply mosaic art to the front of a clock face. I do not understand how to select movements that will fit - especially since mosaic thickness can vary. I want atomic clock movement. How do I select the right movement before the clock has been completed?

Quartz movements sold through Klockit have differing shaft lengths, but the longest shaft length is typically meant to fit through 3/4" thick material. This would be referenced as "maximum dial thickness". If your mosaic will not be thicker than 3/4", then you can simply select the longest shaft movement. If the shaft is too long, the movement can always be spaced back with some type of spacer (be it thick rubber washers, a wood piece with a center hole for the hand shaft, etc.).
Unfortunately the maximum dial thickness for Klockit's standard RC (Atomic) movement is 1/2" (see #10145). If you plan to go RC, your mosaic would need to be 1/2" thick or less (otherwise you would need to find an RC movement will a larger maximum dial thickness).
As a side note, the "Set and Forget" is available in a 3/4" maximum dial thickness. Reference #14510 or #14502.
