Post subject: Design challenge.
Hi to all,
I would like to combine a clock and a ceiling lighting fixture… i.e imagine a clock on the ceiling and a light coming out straight in the middle, hanging on the bolt that is in the middle of the hands.
Have you ever seen anything like this? How would you approach this?
Thanks
Bob

I have seen this concept on walls, but never on a ceiling. I doubt you could hang a light from the hand shaft with a typical quartz movement, but maybe there are different applications (i.e. some type of electric motor, etc).

not really possible as the hands need to rotate 360 degrees, and the wire to power the light would be in the way.
If you were to make a custom electric movement that utilized just the hour hand it could work, the hand would attach to the threaded part that holds the light bulb, and the wire for the bulb would pass through the movement to the ceiling. Of course the bulb would rotate with the hand.
