Hello to all
I have a #5 Howard Banjo and do not have the original hands, I bought a pair and the clock will not run with the minute hand mounted. I do not have whatever spacers or washers to keep the minute hand from stopping from what I think is fricton. I can get it to run with no problems with the hour only. Is there a database of pictures on what the correct items should look like or even dimensions? I have not had problems with a time only clock. But, truth be known, I am a marginal clock guy.

The hand you are using may be OK. Be sure when you mount it that it does not touch the hour hand anywhere. If it touches the hour hand, you must work the hour hand back toward the dial until it almost touches the dial, but does not have contact with the minute hand. The minute hand can only touch the center shaft on which it is mounted, not the outer sleeve on which the hour hand is mounted. If your hand does not work, try Merritt's Antiques in Penn.

Hi again WOW, thanks, will make sure that there is no touching of the hands. The problem for me may be that I don't have the correct spacers or brass incerts to keep the minute hand from wobbling on the shaft. I think I have tried all sorts of ways to secure the minute hand, but believe that when I put the pin in, think it is rubbing on the brass wsher. Will try again.
