hi
still having problems with chimes Question
replaced all the hammer pads (leather) and still the chime is very soft ...could it be that the spring is getting weak ..the movement is clean and oiled... its a mystery to me ...can you help throw some light on the subject

the strike hammers may need to be adjusted so they are closer to the chime rods, or tubes.

fresh leather is soft - burn the ends with a lighter slightly to make theends hard - you will find thismakes the sounds louder.
