If I substitute a battery pack (multiple aa or C cells connected in parallel to maintain 1.5v) in place of the standard single aa cell, will that result in significantly longer time between battery replacement? Seems like it would but I want to make sure I'm not overlooking something.

Also, if I substitute a battery pack on a high torque movement can I use a larger set of hands? Will the additional current allow me to do that?

Thanks for your response.

battery life should be 1yr+ on a AA time quartz movement. A larger battery may give you longer life, this would all depend on the drain the movement places on the battery. You could also try a photo AA battery to see if it lasts longer.

Yes, I think it would give longer battery life.
