Post subject: g. laurance keeth clock
I have an old (1900-1940) clock with the name "G. Laurance Keeth" on its face, and Klienzle battery operated clock movement that holds a "D" size Battery in its battery compartment. Can anyone identify this clock and give us an idea as to its worth ? Is this one-of-kind clock? Is it a common run of the mill clock?, or is it just a nothing? How can I upload a picture of this clock for you?[imp] This clock is wood with three finials on on top and one on the bottom in the center.[/img]http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=869198022/a=1083673022_1083673022/

It's a nice looking clock but the Kienzle battery clock works are probably not original to the clock. I would look for mounting holes where the old movement may have been mounted to the case or dial. Looks like you have winding holes in the dial, so the original movement was replaced

Thanks for reply and the noted wind holes. I missed that. Do you really think is an antique clock, or just a prodution model of a cheap clock? We are involved in a family law suit, where the other side claims this clock to be a $8,000.00 antique ENGLISH clock. I thought it was German when I found the Klienzie battery works. Is there any web site that would shed some light on old English clocks? It has been in the family since 1940 or so.
