I just happened to see that there is a Gilbert mantel clock with Normandy (bim-bam) striking up for auction on eBay currently. It is in a tambour style case with an unusual octagon shaped dial and roman numerals. There's only a couple of days left on the bidding.

Thanks, missed it - too slow at the draw.

I would say just about as common as dirt. I think I have several, and Gilbert made several models. So did Seth Thomas, Sessions, Ingraham and New Haven. I'm not positive on Ansonia or Waterbury.
