Post subject: Grandfather Clock-Colonial of Zeeland Serial #8013460
I need to find out where to order a weight for the subject clock. I could not find the model # and don't know where to find it. It was not on the door with the serial #. Could someone please help?

The serial number on the door probably only reflects the manufacturer of the wood case. In many cases, manufacturers of clock case assemblies will rely on a different manufacturer for the movement. To determine the proper weight, you will need to refer to the model number of the works (movement) itself. In some cases, such as with movements Klockit sells, the manufacturer of the movement will etch the movement model number and other information on the back plate of the movement itself. You may need to remove the back panel of your clock to gain access to this information if it is there. That would be the first place to check. Otherwise, check to see if your clock included a manual for the movement. In some instances, weight specifications are listed there (to help identify proper mounting of the weights on the movement pulleys/chains).
