Post subject: grandfather clock conversion
Want to convert a mechanical grandfather clock into a battery powered one. Any suggested movements with pendulum. Wondering if it is even possible.
Clock face diameter is 9.5in. hands measure 4 ¾ and 3 1/2 . current pendulum measures 37in long.

It is a very good possibility, as quartz movements are versitile enough. The only thing is that you will more than likely have to use a separate pendulum drive unit to drive a Grandfather/Grandmother style pendulum. You can search the following components on the Klockit website:
#19012 - Pendulum Drive Unit (it should drive your existing pendulum)
#12001 - #12003 - Tubular Chime Quartz Movements (our best sounding Quartz movement with remote speaker - three shaft lengths available)
#23013 or #23014 Decorative Weight Shell Set (to maintain the look of a Grandfather/Grandmother clock assembly - or you may look into removing the weight fills from your existing shells, reassembling, and hanging them within the clock assembly with some decorative brass chain)
Note that you may select hour/minute hands of your choice which would come free with the quartz movement purchase. Give us a call if you should have any specific questions (you can ask for Chris). Hope this helps...
