Post subject: GrandFather Clock help! please.
I recently aquired a Grandfather Clock made by Piper Industries in Jackson Mississippi, Model # 9093 Sold By Montgomery Ward.
I would like to restore it as it is in very good condition but it needs weights and a new front piece of glass.
I can't find information anywhere on this clock, Ive tried searching through several sources but have come to a dead end.
I have somewhat of an instruction manual, but there is NO date.
The Manual does say Tempus Fugit on the cover followed by Montgomery ward and piper industries.
If anyone could help out at all i would really appreciate it.

Tempus Fugit simply means "Time Flies", and is not indicative of any sort of clock company that I am aware of. It would seem that Montgomery Ward commissioned Piper Industries to make this clock (otherwise, Piper made the clock and branded it with the Montgomery Ward name for retail sale through their stores). Piper Industries would be the first place to start - although it could be that they are no longer in business...
Another apsect to look into would be to try and identify the movement itself (the brass clock works behind the clock face). In many cases, the movement may be etched or stamped on the backside with the manufacturer, model number, and (sometimes) date of manufacture. If you identify the movement, this will help to assist with finding comparable weights for the clock. For the glass panel, you may have to have a local glass company fabricate that for you. You can create a cardboard template for the glass by cutting it to fit within the glass opening of your door. Glass manufacturers can use that template to cut you a new piece of glass.
