i have a grandfather clock which i bought from a family member a few years ago! it used to work now it does'nt. i know absolutely nothing about clocks. i dont know anything about it except the name on the face is tempus fugit. ecs westminster germany. it is a pendulum clock with 3 weights and stands at just under 7 feet tall. it has not been moved since i brought it home and worked fine for approx 12 months then just stopped. my wife used to take care of the "winding it up" bit. can anyone help me with info about getting it going again. also if anyone knows? what is it worth as i am will be parting from this clock as it is just too big and maybe someone else could get some pleasure from it.

all help is greatly appreciated.

thanks

is this a reproduction longcase? ie - not antique?

if so probably needs the movement replacing but then if you have this done you probably won't get the money back when you sell.

i'm thinking the movement is worn badly unless its been mauntained well over the years?
is there a name on the back of the mechanism?

thanks clokfxr

im sure it is a reproduction. it has 2 small decorative panels on the side that come away so to access the mechanism. i can just about see a stamp that could say JAUCH?? PI or PL 107 very hard to see as access is limited.

does this help?

thanks again for your help.
