Post subject: Gustaf Bekcer Date?
I have recently purchased a Vienna Wall Clock which I am told could have been made by Gustaf Becker. It has the initials GB each side of an anchor surmounted by a crown on the face and RA on the pendulum. I am a complete novice with clocks and would appreciate any help in identifying and dating this timepiece.
Thanks,
Peter.

books are available on a well-known auction site, amazon or similar
I'm sure if you do a search you will find much better details than i could give here.

The initials GB on either side of an anchor is the logo for Gustave Becker.
Vienna regulators were popular from the mid 1800's until after the turn of the 20th century. Both key wind and weight wound models were produced. The RA inscription on the pendulum bob was common to many regulators and other clocks as was a beat scale mounted behind the pendulum on the back of the case.
