hand protection help requested

I sell the clocks I make and need low-cost hand protectors (covers) to -- well, to protect the hands until the buyer gets the clock home or for me to ship the clock. How have others dealt with this situation?

Klockit, I know, makes a small hand protector (not in the catalog for some reason), but it isn't large enough to cover both the clock hands and the added second hand. Please help. Is there some sort of rigging I could do instead of having to find these protectors? I've asked Klockit to stock them, but so far they haven't. I really need something reliable and readily available asap. Thanks so much

Hands sold by Klockit should feature some type of plastic coating which covers the hand during shipment. In most cases, this plastic covering is blue or red in coloration and is similar in material to the plastic protective coating you would find over the front face of a brand new LCD clock (alarm clock).

That aside, unfortunately there is not any other sort of shipment protector (available at this time) that would cover all three hands and center shaft. That is not to say, however, that you could not create your own. A small cardboard box, the length and width of the hands, could possibly be taped over the center shaft and hands (providing both hands were mounted at the same position numeral). It may even be possible to mold Styrofoam to serve the same purpose (over-sea vendors do this quite a bit).

Having not seen your clocks prior, I am not certain if these suggestions will prove useful or not. With that being said, please feel free to reply back with any further comments, questions, and/or concerns.
