Post subject: heinz jauch missing part
I recently moved or had moved my grandfather clock. I did not take the necessary precautions and lost the leader. The movement is a 77178 model number. Anybody know where I can find a replacement?

Jauch went out of business about 25 years ago, so finding a leader might be tough. I'm sure (like myself) at least half the clock smiths out there probably have one or two kicking around in a drawer and just don't know what they have. Regardless, any competent clock professional can fabricate you one of these easily enough. Expect to pay many times the price of a new one, but since new ones don't exist and were made on a production line, I'd say the price is fair; estimating about $35 to $50.
