Any information about this clock would be really appreciated, the clock has been in the family for many years and was told it was late 18's ealry 19's (not sure if this is true).
I am now going to keep the clock until my daugher is of an age where she is old enough to apreciate it, and I am just after as much info about the clock as possible so to pass the correct information on with it!

I have looked EVERYWHERE on the net and cannot get any answers, so please if only you know a little please post!! all information on this is big news to me.............kind regards!.... Very Happy

None of us are experts in all assemblies. All I could give you was my best guess (which I have refrained from in hopes that someone would know what clock this is). Since nobody has replied, I will offer my best guess. Keep in mind, it is just a guess:

The clock definately looks as though it is a 20th century assembly (the clock face has a real 1920s feel to it). I would guess that this clock could have been made anywhere between 1930 and 1960. The movement, however, looks to be newer (but I could be mistaken). Value would be much harder to establish without more info.

Info on the company is a bit more obscure on the internet. Try searching under Schatz (as the manufacturer is also referenced by this name over the net).

You could also try posting on the NAWCC. While our forum is modest at best in terms of membership, the NAWCC's forum has been around much longer and has many more members. Here's an example post regarding a Schatz clock:

If it is true that these clocks were only sold in Germany (and brought over by US servicemen) as posted, perhaps there is more history to be found on European clock sites or through European Antique Dealers. Just a thought...

hello, i only repair clocks. this one Chris has dated quite correctly - prob 1950 - 70.
nice dual/triple chime, however values have fallen dramatically over the years of recession. poss 70 - 90 GBP. 8 years ago you would poss got about 140.

There are lots of people who love these schatz clocks and dual/triple chime especially.
