Post subject: help with date additional info and value of mantel clock
Antique Samuel Marti French Four Glass Mantel Clock, Circa 1900
Antique Samuel Marti French Four-Glass Brass & Crystal Striking Mantel Clock, C.1900 France. The clock features a brass and beveled glass case with flat top and exposed escapement. The circular dial has black numerals on enamel. Maynard & __ name on the face is worn a bit. The clock features two-jar mercury pendulum and coiled gong. The back of the movement is stamped "2658 1.8" with circular mark "Medaille D’Or Paris 1900" around "Samuel Marti".
Dimensions: 8-3/4" High, 5-1/2" Wide, 4-3/4" Deep. The clock has been in the family since new. It appears to be in fine working condition and includes the winding key. Slight stain to the top surface of the brass case (some oxidation to the surface). There is one hardly noticeable chip in the bottom corner of of the beveled glass in the rear door. The numerals on the enamel dial are in very good condition as is the dial itself.
Can someone help me confirm that this is from 1900 and also possible value. Thanks in advance.[/img]

sounds right for around the 1900's, and is a desirable clock. I would check to see what they sell for on ebay, that should give you a good indication. Of course price is what someone is willing to pay, and condition is a big factor. It's worth $200+

Will do. Thanks for the help. I saw one that had been polished up that sold for $1,300.00. Given that and knowing now that the movement of mine is in fine working order, I may not be asking enough.
