Certainly photos would more than likely help in identifying the various parts and where they belong in your clock. Also model numbers might help in identifying which model it is that you have. Model numbers are usually stamped into the brass on the back plate of the clock movement.

There are no Serial # on this there is only 60-500 /Ke/E and western Germany and the Herschede name and Starkville, which I know is Mississippi I live here in Mississippi and know the clock used to be made there. and then P.L.78 CM and NO (0) JEWELS and at the bottom 6 70 Now is any of this a serial # ?? and I had to use a magnifier glass and a pencil to get all that. But there is nothing else on the movement..Does any one know any thing about this Clock...HELP

That information does help somewhat. It tells me that it is an imported movement that was made by Jauch in Germany for Herschede. It is a chain drive/weight wound 8 day Westminster chime clock. The pendulum length for the movement is 78 cm. (PL 7Cool. The '6 70' is probably the year the movement was manufactured (June 1970).This would tie in to the fact that Herschede relocated to Starkville MS in 1960, so the clock would have to date after that.

The difficulty lies in the fact that both Herschede and Jauch are no longer in business so it's not possible to obtain information about your clock from those sources.

However your clock movement is fairly straightforward, but it depends entirely how much damage was done to it in shipping.

From your description the chains have come off the chain wheels and must be threaded back on. You don't say how extensive the damage is to the clock and the case. Possibly other parts have come loose since you mentioned that you found a part that you couldn't identify.

Again any photos that you can provide might help in diagnosing the problem and what action should be taken.
