Post subject: Help with Waterbury grandfather clock finding part
Twenty years ago my wife bought me a beautiful Waterbury grandfather clock for a birthday present. We truly love our clock. Right now we are having a problem with our mechanism. The clock is somewhat unusual as the two very heavy weights are suspended on a wire that I would describe as strapping- a material similar to what is used to band boxes for shipping. This strapping broke on one side just above where the weight was attached to it. Our repairman who is fairly knowledgeable says he is having a hard time finding this material. Could anyone make a suggestion as to where we might find such a wire or strapping? If necessary I could take a digital photo and email to anyone who thinks they might recognize it.
Thanks,

A picture would help, as it sounds like the suspension spring that holds the pendulum broke. Can't imagine the weight cord being made of strapping.
