Hermle 451-050h grandfather runs fast about 6 minutes in 24 hours. What should I do? Thank you

you have a brass round knob screwed on the bottom of the pendulum rod.
unscrew about one full turn downwards to slow the clock down.

Adjusting the rating nut of the pendulum is a trial and error process. You have to allow 24 hours in between each adjustment in order to properly gauge how much of an effect the adjustment had. In some cases, it may take several attempts to keep the clock from running too fast or slow. A good rule of thumb to keep in mind is that one full turn of the rating nut will equal (approximately) 1 minute in a 24 hour time period. Use a pencil to make a light reference mark on the rating nut prior to rotating. Adjust your rating nut about five to six turns (to lower the pendulum bob) and then allow the clock to run for 24 hours. After 24 hours, take note of the time to see if the movement is still running fast. You can do any "fine-tune" adjusting after this (while allowing the proper 24 hour run time in between each adjustment). Although it is a tedious process, your clock should be in synch within a few days (at most).
