This is a quality clock with weights and a pendulum. It has never been manhandled, dropped or damaged. Very odd, but when my husband left me this and an anniversary clock I got for him (both gifts) stopped running within a couple of days. Yes, it sounds odd I know.

At any rate, I don't understand why the Hermle clock would stop running after an hour or two now. I very carefully and gently dusted it hoping it was just dust... to no avail.

It's a wonderful clock in very nice shape. Can anyone help me? Thank you!

It is probably out of beat - a term used to mean the clock is not beating evenly when perfectly upright on the wall or mantle/mantel.

when you swing the pendulum the clock should have an even beat - tick, tock. If it 'ticks' or #tocks' too long one way than other then you have to move the pallet crutch towards the longest beat just a bit to get the clock to beat evenly again.
this may not be the problem of course - it may need a clean and oil .

try to even the beat first.

your anniversary clock will probably need a service too to get it running - much more complicated than a standard clock.
