Approximately a year or so ago. I bought a Hermle 8 Day movement with 3 chimes from clock works. I never got it mounted in the case properly and I hope I haven't damaged it beyond repair. Maybe I should explain it in more detail. I was in the Air Force and was stationed at Rhein Main Germany from 1976 to 1980. While I was there my Wife's brother was killed in a military vehicle accident in Taiwan and since she was the only one in her family that was a naturalized US Citizen at the eime She was charged to return to Taiwan to supervise her brother's funeral. While she was there She bought a Teak Grandfather Clock Case and mailed it back to me in Germany. Since I am mecanically inclined She felt I could do anything. I was charged with buying and mounting a works in the clock. At the time I didn't have the Internet to seek assistance. So armed with the case dimensions and a picture I proceeded to purchase Works, a Pendulum and Weights. I had no clue how to mount the works in the case. I did manage to cut some cross members to mount inside the case and with much tribulation mounted the works inside and used the Faceplate for additional support. All was fine until we rotated back to the States and I had to disassemble it for shipping. Using the Serial Number on the old works, which I thought I had destroyed. I got the new works in but still didn't know how to mount it. I did get it in similiar to how I had done it before but never got the chimes and the strick to work. Now I am trying to fix it right. I don't know how to order the mounting plates or movement mounting screws. I purchased Murray Clock Plans F9 and I think I can make a movement mount for the clock now and maybe salvage my clock. Does anyone know where I can buy mounting plates and mounting screws? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am also interested in building Grandfather Clock Case's and mounting works in them as a way to keep busy and maybe make a little extra income.

depending on the movement it should mount with ears on each corner of the movement if it is a simple mantel clock. It would typically be mounted to the board that the dial attaches to, you may need to make spacers if the handshaft is too long.
