Herschede Clock Movement

We have a clock movement that we would like to sell and wondered if you can recommend a forum where we might offer it for sale.

It is still in the original box from the factory. I believe it has never been out of the box. I did open the box to take pictures.

It is a Herschede movement and there is a sticker on the box with the number 440-29031-4.
Stamped in larger letters it says "0438 9 TUBE"
I believe the complete set of tubes is here in another box which is about 6 feet long.

Can anyone suggest an approximate value for this?

It depends on the movement. Although Herschede manufactured top quality movements over many years, due to stiff competition from other imports they were forced to start importing movements themselves in later years. Clock cases and final assembly was still done in the US. The company went out of business in 1984.

If the 9 tube movement you have is one that Herschede manufactured themselves, rather than one that they imported then it should command a very good price. Do you also have the dial to go with it?
As always pictures help tremendously in assessing the type of movement that it is.

A good place to market your movement would be through eBay. There is even a category under collectible and antique clocks dealing specifically with Herschede clocks and movements.

hello;stucker..I am a herschede clock collector.do you still have the movement for sale.?I am interested in it.I also need a set of nine tubes for two herschede movements i have.does anyone have a set of used ones.thanks daryl..darylcorley@bellsouth.net
