Wondering if anyone knows of a place to get a movement for a Herschede hall clock. I got one that has worn so bad that it has a notch roughly 2 cm into the plate!

Is it a mantel or floor clock? Anything manufactured before the early 50's was built by Herschede in their Cincinnati factory. From the mid 1950's until they went out of business in 1984 many of the movements, primarily for their mantel and wall clocks and some smaller floor clocks were imported from Germany, with cases and final assembly done in Cincinnati and after 1960 in Starkville MS. In their final years only their largest floor clocks were still being manufactured in the USA.
Probably your best bet is to watch eBay listings for Herschede movements/clocks. There is a separate category for Herschede clocks within the clock listings on eBay. The Herschede name often commands substantial prices. Be aware that condition will vary in the items being offered.
