I did find a Seiko movement listed as high-torque and continous sweep: http://www.klockit.com/products/sku-10045.html; if it's the only one, I''ll spring for it, but it's a bit pricier and my clock will be a low-price DIY affair.

The 10045 would be the correct choice. It is a bit pricier, but that is due to the movement accomodating two features: 1.) Being able to run a minute hand that is longer than 7" through the high torque feature, and 2.) Having the continuous sweep action to help quiet the "tick" sound of the clock motor.
Note: If you can use a minute hand that is 7" or less (from center mounting hub to the end of the hand), then you would not need the high torque movement. Just a standard continuous sweep movement will work.
