Hi

Im a total novice when it comes to clock movments but i wonder if i could use some of your expert knowledge.

Im a designer and as part of a new product range, i am prototyping a large wall clock. The arm length is around 22" from centre point to tip for the minute hand and i would also like to use a second hand too. all hands are made from extreamly light weight plastic and fully balanced.

My question is, is there a clock movement, either mechanical or electrically driven that could work with this? And is there scope for increasing the hand length further?

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance,
Chris

High torque movement would be the way to go - but you would want to test it with hands that are fabiricated (and not purchased). I know that the amount of torque is successive to the number of hands you are running. If, for example, you choose not run a second hand, you will have more power available to the other two hands. Limitations would need to be tested (especially if, again, you are making your own hands).
