Post subject: How to identify maker & date mantel clock
Hi, I have a marble mantel clock that belonged to my grandparents. Family lore is that it was a wedding gift brought over from Europe. If true that would place it in the late 1920's. It is a white/pink marble and has matching candleabras. The tops of the candleabras are bronze/gilt material. The clock has some gilt details. The face of the clock is white, with black numerals and minute dots as well as some gilt details. What else should I be looking for?

look on the back of the clock movement to see if there is a makers name. Could be a Japy Freres.
