Hello,

I think after much research I've got down the knowledge of needing to know the dimensions of the current movement to find a replacement movement. Where I am now stuck is, in looking at many websites that carry the size movement I need it doesn't appear they allow my chiming speaker to attach to it. I looks like they have a built in speaker to the movement. Is there any thoughts on where you can find a movement that allows you to add your own speaker to it for chiming and striking?

Thanks,
Tiffany

You could probably use the same speaker... But it might just be easier to replace everything. The #12001, #12002, #12003 series features a very nice speaker.

While the movement has it own connectors which attach the movement wires to the remote mount speaker wires, I suppose that these wires could be clipped from the connector so that they could be attached to the pre-existing speaker wires.

Note that clipping the speaker wire connector will void the movement warranty (which is another reason it may just be best to use the new speaker rather than your existing one).

Thank You for your suggestions! I believe that was the I considered at klockit but i was concerned with the speaker not fitting in the base of the clock like the current speaker does. So on timesavers.com I was looking at part #18933 or #23561. same dimensions both play westminster but the first one plays bim-bam and second one ava maria. These speakers are like the one i have but it says 6in long speaker wire. Does this mean it wont come with the speaker and i would clip my speaker from my broken movement and splice it onto the new movement? So confusing!
Thanks!

I believe the two different part numbers have to do with the two different chime options offered. You could always contact them and ask. I would think that the speaker would come with the movement, but it is always good to verify.

Thanks Chris. Yes that is correct they play one different melody each. I called and does jnclude that speaker, which is the same as mine and it includes 6in of speaker. So I found a match! So glad that I'll only be spending $50 and replace it myself instead of the $175 the local clock shop wanted to rip me! Thanks again for everyones input.
