Post subject: I need help Identifying this clock
Who made this Antique Porcelain Wind Up Clock?
I got this antique wind up porcelain clock which was patent in May 6, 1890, December 23 1890, and January 18, 1891. The clock has a trademark of a crown and a "L" "Austria". Does any one know which company made this clock and who the person is on the portrait? Any information will help.
This is a very nice clock. I can say that there were companies back in the late 1800's that produced these types of clocks: Ansonia in particular, New Haven would be another. I believe that both companies were based in the US however. This does not necessarily jive with the "Austria" stamping on the bottom of the clock. Perhaps an antique dealer could help? Keep checking back here, however, as we have many forum patrons who are more experienced than I.

I've seen a few of these clocks but won't be much help.
People built clocks by using a case made from one country then chose movements from a different country again. You need an antiques expert.
