Post subject: Identifying Age of Hermle Clock Movement
Hi
I have read that Hermle Clock Movements have the last 2 digits of the year they were manufactured stamped on the backplate. I cannot find any such numbers, can anyone shed some light on why not?
Thanks

Up until 1987 Hermle stamped the last two digits of the year of manufacture on the back plate along with the movement model #. After 1987 they went to a letter of the alphabet to denote the year, beginning with the letter 'A' in 1988. I believe by now it's up to 'U' for 2008.

Thanks for your reply to this one and the one in the mechinal section. I cannot find a letter either. All there is is the movement type = 340-020 and capital letters FSH. I cannot see anything else on the backplate.
