Does anyone make a complete movement for this clock.

You will most likely have to look on Ebay to find an original. Merrits sells reproduction ones, but you will have to give them measurements to see if they will fit.

Here is one below.

Awesome - thanks. Smile
I will probably go with a reproduction movement that fits.
My grandfather purchased this new, sometime back in the 20's or 30's or ??
Is there anyway that I can pin down the date of manufacture?

looking at the clock again, it almost looks handmade, i.e. dial looks too big for the case.

I was the winning bidder on a sister clock on eBay.
Almost identical, except for darker stain and slightly different top and sides.
Now I have OEM parts that I hope are good for getting mine back in working order.
Won't know for sure until I get it back from my clock shop.

You bring up an interesting line of thought amrad.
Actually, it looks like it might have been cut out of plywood.
Except they did not make plywood back then.

So this is just me thinking out loud. I wonder if they made kit clocks back in those days.

Anyway, my grandfather was very tight with the buck. So the inexpensive look of this clock fits our family history to a tee.

I remember it as a ficture down at the old farm house and my father said his dad had it for a very long time.

My dad took a long rectangular clock case, and remade it into a square case, using the old case parts. Of course the clock works wore out, and it needs a new dial glass. Did find a donor clock, but have yet to rebuild my fathers.

This could very well have been the case with yours, someone did not like the case, and made their own.
