I am interested in obtaining one of the Atomix RC movements, Stock Number 10143, to put into a case I built years ago. I would like to know more about the movement before purchase.

In the RC FAQ

http://www.klockit.com/products/dept-142__sku-atomic_faq.html

a link is given to a web site to download the instructions for setting up the movement, and the link appears to be dead. The link is:

http://www.atomixtime.com/products/atomixinstru.html

Following the link results in an empty page.

Does anyone have an updated link where I can obtain the instructions for setting up the movement?

Thanks in Advance

We will see if we can get the link to work again. Meanwhile, as another option, you may also contact Klockit and request that we e-mail you a PDF copy of the instruction materials (1-800-556-2548).

Chris,

Thanks for the info. I did find a couple of pdf files online that seem to contain the information I need. I also purchased the movement from Klockit, so I have the printed version of the instructions in hand. I will try to set this up in my old clock case in the next few days and post the results.

A quick update on the Atomix clock movement project.

I installed the movement in my old case this evening and followed the instructions that were sent with the clock. It took about 2 hours for the clock to see the signal and update itself. It is now ticking along showing the correct time.

I live in the Boston area, and that is quite a distance from Fort Collins, so I am pleased with the performance of the movement so far.

I have an old clock case that I designed about 30 years ago to house a small mechanical movement that I bought from Klockit. I made the case out of solid black walnut wood and even painted the face by hand.

That mechanical movement was essentially a large watch, but it worked OK for many years. After it quit running it was not available anymore, and I could not figure out how to fix it, so I replaced it with a small quartz Bim Bam movement with real bells on it... also from Klockit.

That was a nice movement as well, but it quit too... first the strike, and then the timepiece. I still have it but cannot figure out how to even open it much less fix it. So my clock has sat idle for a number of years.

I really like the case so I did not want to just toss it out, and I have been looking for another movement to fit in it. There is nothing standard about the case since it was hand made, so finding something that will physically fit in it has been a challenge. Any of the little quartz movements would fit, but I wanted to put something more interesting in it. The atomix movement fits, and it seems to run well.... and is accurate to a gazillionth of a second!

So my old case is now on its third movement. Shocked . My cars should last so long. Laughing

Thanks for the help.
