just bought a Napolean style clock!

this thing is huge!..I have a forrestville and it has the similiar face to it..It says Prevanda on the front but I cannot find anything anywhere about it..Any of you knowledgeable folks know what I am talking about?..it is a very darkish red and umber brown finish on it..I could post a picture or two if that would help..thanks for any and all replies..even tho it is working should I have it serviced by a clock dealer?.....

As Confucius is reported to have said, "A picture is worth a thousand words!"....so yes, picture(s) could be helpful with identification.

Unless you know the previous service history of the clock, it may very well need to be cleaned and lubricated. Generally spring wound clocks should be oiled every two to three years. Although clocks have been known to run for many years with little or no attention, it's wiser to have them serviced on a regular basis.
