I have a Kundo 400 day clock the minute hand slips and will not go around. can it be glued to the center shaft with a small drop of super glue? but not sure if it will hamper setting the time then. or any one know of a good way to crimp it to the center shaft ? or is the minute shaft broken does it go to the end and held on with the pin? looking for a parts breakdown it is a KIENINGER & OBERGFELL PLATE 1371 4-BALL PENDULUM
(19X38) if i figure out how to post pictrues i will.
Thanks,
Bob

I would not recommend gluing the hand onto the shaft with super glue. I do wonder, however, if there might be an alternative solution. On wooden gear clocks, the hands need to be removable (so that you can take the assembly apart and lubricate shafts [etc] with graphite). Typically the hands fit onto a wooden dowel. It has been my experience that a 3/8" diameter wooden dowel (for example) may not always measure 3/8" (and will likely be undersized in diameter). If a hand should happen to fit loosely on the dowel, the manufacturer recommends to put a bit of rubber cement in the mounting hole of the hand. Once the rubber cement dries, one can re-mount the hand. The rubber cement helps to create a better friction fit for the hand, yet allows the hand to remain removable.

I do not know if this is the best "fix" - so to speak, or if it is an option at all. While this has worked for wooden gear clocks, I can not attest that it is a viable solution for your clock. I am simply curious if it could potentially help in your situation. I would advise, however, that you check back for any additional posts from our more experienced forum patrons before "experimenting". Perhaps someone has a better solution which is more tried and true (and one that is not completely experimental in nature for your type of clock).
