Linden, Westminister Ave Maria wall clock

I need to replace the Hermle Quartz 2215 movement in this clock. I can't figure out how to remove defective movement. How do I get the glass clock lens off the front in order to remove clock hands? I can't tell if the retainer ring screws on or if you pry it off? I'm afraid I'll break it if I don't approach it correctly. Any advice is appreciated.
