Long Case Clock

I have acquired a long case clock about 10 years ago with the name W Lawrence, Northwich on the face. I don't know anything about the clock and I have done a search on the net without success, if anybody knows anything please help

Hello, Have a look at the metal plate which the dial fixes to. There may be a name there. The name on the dial could well be a retailer and not the maker. If you find a name post it here and we may be able to date.

Thanks, I had a look under the cover and could not see anything. Will I need to take the face off to see the plate?

If you shine a torch between the steel plate the dial is attached to and the movement front you may be able to see something.
