Post subject: Looking for info about old grandfather clock
Hello all! This is my first post but I hope it will develop into some good information. I got this clock about 6 months back. It was originally owned by my great grandmother who was born in 1905. She passed in 2005 and was then in the possession of my grandmother and mother. It still works as well. I just cant find any markings on it to help determine it's maker, age or (potential) value. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated!

Probably made in the 1920's. Looks as if it was refinished, not sure what price it would fetch, but it is a nice looking clock.

I would check the inside of the case to see if there was any paperwork which would identify the maker. In some cases, this information might be on the upper case back panel (facing inisde the assembly). In other cases, this may have been marked/wood burned into a case wood piece. In other instances still, you might be able to trace the manufacturer with information directly from the movement (some manufacturers only used certain movements). I will admit that this can be similar to the proverbial needle in the haystack, but you really have nothing to loose by taking a closer inspection for any clues that may lead to more information. As far as a dollar value, an appraisal by a qualified antique dealer may be your best bet.
